Before working in Kibanda TopUp, I worked with Lumos Nigeria as a corporate sales manager, where I oversaw government projects, B2B sales, cooperative deals and corporate partnership engagements.  I have held similar sales roles in multinational companies like StarTimes Nigeria, Econet Media and MultiChoice Nigeria. Working in sales has exposed me to unique and innovative ways to solve customer problems. I was highly interested in working at Kibanda Top UP because of our mission- increasing restaurants' contribution to Africa’s GDP. This piqued my interest, particularly because no business in Africa is currently servicing that segment of the market at scale. Bukas and canteens have been feeding Nigerians for years. However, they are being deprived of the necessary support to make them thrive and Kibanda TopUP helps solve this.

Kibanda Topup has allowed me to exercise my problem-solving skills. I was able to start off the Kibanda TopUp Nigeria sales team from scratch. It seemed like a daunting task, with two sales agents, no supply chain, no warehouse, no drivers. Yet we hit the ground running, signed up customers and made our first delivery with an Uber. We did not wait for things to take shape before starting, we launched out and things gradually started taking shape as we grew. As of now, I have a well-structured team that has made the whole process way easier. We are not where we want to be, but we are a long way from where we used to be. I am truly proud of the progress.

The fact that what we do really matters to these restaurants is what excites me most about this business. The value that we give to them is simply unquantifiable. It goes beyond the profit that we will make as a business but the indelible impact that we will have on the growth of these restaurants is immense. Being one of the first companies to identify this opportunity and commit resources to its realization makes me a pioneer of sorts. I absolutely love that. I am extremely motivated by helping people get closer to their dreams; I love to see how my acts of kindness or service light up the faces of friends, families, colleagues and even customers.

During my free time, you would either find me watching a new movie at the cinema or staying indoors to read a really good book. However, what I enjoy doing the most is spending quality time with my family. When they ask me what I do, I simply answer them that I am the purveyor of a wide range of food products to small and medium restaurants in Lagos. That I am positioned and equipped to ensure that these underserved restaurants get all the inventory management and financial services support they need to grow their businesses.

Moving forward, I want Kibanda TopUp to be a breath of fresh air to restaurants in Africa. I want them to think about our business and be truly relieved that they have a partner that really cares about the growth of their business.
